Friendship Since School
December 6, 2025

Looking back, it still amazes me how our friendship first began. Two completely different girls in a math-focused school ended up in the same classroom. I remember sitting behind Degi at first, but I kept changing seats. In English class, we were always side by side, so we could laugh together.
What surprised me most was how many little similarities we kept discovering. We both loved the Angry Beavers cartoon, our fathers and even our grandparents drove the same type of car, and we lived closed to each other. Over time, we even started dressing alike. Students from other classes would ask if we were sisters—and honestly, we didn’t mind. We really did look alike, but in the sweetest way.
Something I still smile about is those long 5 km walks from school to home. We walked the whole way just to keep talking, or sometimes skipped sports class because one of us didn’t feel like going. Looking back now, I realize that’s where we first learned what supporting each other really meant.
I’ve always admired the way Degi writes. I truly believe she has a natural talent for it, and I hope you’ve already had a chance to enjoy some of her writing here on our blog.
Did we have difficult moments? Of course—teenagers can say cold things without meaning them. But even then, we always valued our friendship. No one knows us the way we know each other.
And about the Angry Beavers—yes, the brothers fought constantly, but maybe that’s exactly why we loved them. They were funny, relatable, and somehow reminded us of ourselves. Back then, we dreamed about building our own city—complete with a building that had two towers. Now we dream about having summer houses close to each other.
And this story isn’t just about the two of us. We also have another dear friend we love. As adults, syncing our schedules and locations isn’t always easy, but the connection is always there. Maybe it is another topic to tell about
